Embrace Grace to     See the Face of Grace

By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).

In my efforts in learning to live as a missionary, I have been led to embrace this verse that is so full of grace.

First, grace means God initiates.  "By the grace of God..."  Any desire or hope I have with any true value did not originate in me...God initiates those in me!

My pastor recently said that God is the original and sole Giver.  This means that God gives us our deepest desires and the fulfillment of those desires.  Belief in this truth frees me from self-righteousness.

Second, grace gives me an identity.  The world tries to define me by what I do.  However, "by the grace of God, I am what I am."  This is tremendous freedom!  I am not what I am by achieving...I am who I am by receiving the grace of the Son of God through His cross and resurrection!

Third, grace empowers me to live a fulfilled life out of my true identity.  I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Finally, grace comforts me.  "The grace of God was with me."  God just doesn't give me grace, He comforts me with His presence through the  Spirit of Christ.  Jesus in me and others puts a face on grace for me!

May God bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you...and through you...and give you peace!

P.S.  A few years ago, I compiled Scriptures that explicitly testify to my heart of grace being the Person and presence of Jesus Himself in my life.  See this grace also in you through these verses at this link
