FOUNDATIONAL TRAINING FOR LIFE AND MINISTRY

We Have Abundant Life

We have this ministry to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us (2 Corinthians 4:1, 6-7).

On October 21st, God unveiled a glorious service celebrating the call to the ministry of discipleship.  Testimonies, prayers, and a special song were lifted up in praise and thanksgiving to God.  Following are excerpts from Bobby Richardson's testimony that so well describes my heart to testify and teach the fullness of life in Christ.

"Christians fail, not because they do not try, but because they do not make use of their assets.  Being unfamiliar with the resources God has made available, many a person limps along the best he can on his own limited resources, and His Christian life is a pale, thin, shallow imitation of the real thing."

"The Christian life is not difficult, it's impossible...only Christ can live it.  And the essence of the Christian experience is that Christ literally indwells a person, and works in and through him God's will."

"The person who struggles in his human best to act like a Christian suffers a pride of partial success or the despair of failure if he does not drift along a dismal plateau of mediocrity."

"Christian growth is a matter of learning the necessity of dependence of Christ within."

"And the irony is that it is more difficult to be a half-hearted Christian than a completely dedicated one."

"It's always the fence-rider whose life is in a precarious balance, who walks like a man on a tight-rope constantly vacillating between a thoroughly Christian life and the deadening drag of compromise and sub-Christian living, never really enjoying either.  Sort of like riding two horses in opposite directions...the strain is terrible."

"But the man or woman or young person who goes all the way with Christ and is determined his life will be a credit to the church, finds that God has made available all the resources anyone needs to live an effective life."

"The standards are high, but the resources of God whereby those standards are achievable are present and available thanks to the grace of God!"

Sharing this special word with you!

PS, The October 21st service was truly a miracle.  I am excited that CDs and DVDs of the service will be available to you and many others for years to come!

Following are the song lyrics from the October 21st celebration:

PEOPLE OF GOD
words and music by Wayne Watson
© 1982 Singspiration Music

With our lips
let us sing one confession.
With our hearts
hold to one truth alone.
For He has erased our transgression,
claimed us and called us His own,
His very own.

CHORUS
We're the people of God
called by His name,
called from the dark,
and delivered from shame.
One holy race,
saints everyone,
because of the blood of Christ
Jesus the Son.

Hear us O spirits of darkness,
so you will know where we stand.
We are His servants,
 purchased with scars,
bought by the blood of the Lamb,
the blood of the Lamb.
