The Lord is unfolding an opportunity for me to teach Journey in Christ's Grace Life Conference August 18-20 in Hendersonville, NC. This conference is not just one spoke of many spokes in a wheel named "How to Live the Christian Life." It is the very hub of the wheel!
After striving to live the Christian life for many years, a truth from this conference totally transformed my life, and I have surrendered the remainder of my lift to teach this truth to others.
God the Father has adorned me (and you) with a resurrection robe -- the robe of His dear Son, the robe of His righteousness!
I am meeting many Christians who know they have been forgiven, but who don't know they have received Christ's righteousness as the core of their identity. Apart from this foundational truth there can be no growing intimacy with God nor any enduring victories in life.
The robe on you does not cover up a sinful identity underneath. The robe is not intended to make you look righteous on the outside. The robe on you is God the Father's glorious testimony and affirmation of Christ's finished work for you and Christ's righteousness inside you! The robe fits perfectly! You can now grow to rest more and more comfortably in your robe.
With an awareness by faith of the spiritual robe with which God has adorned me, I will stand in His grace to teach the conference, even during times when I feel unworthy to teach.
TEACH RELATIONALLY
The word conference implies a one-sided speaking by a teacher with listening by attendees. We at Journey in Christ are growing to see God has called us to engage the hearts of attendees as well as their minds. We want to teach to transform, not to inform. The Grace Life Conference is actually to be more of a Grace Life Communion!
TESTIFY GRACEFULLY
It is so humbling to be entrusted to teach the most important truths of all eternity. In fact, it is impossible to teach these truths! However, it is so amazing to experience Christ who indwells me to be the source of the teaching as I simply testify of His grace to others!
TRUST HOPEFULLY
After a conference is over, I have grown to recognize the enemy tempting me to focus on how well I did or didn't do. However, Christ continues to nurture me to surrender (entrust) to Him everything that was related and testified during the conference.
I have no confidence in my performance. Christ in my heart is my confident Hope as I simply share my heart. He even redeems the times when I totally lose my train of thought while teaching, when a question is asked to which I have no answer, when I can't recall a Scripture verse, etc. :)
CLOSING
Feel the warm embrace of your robe. Be humbled. It is a robe fit for a King! The robe is Christ Himself. God has adorned you to teach your unique version of the grace life in your daily life!
