BECAUSE I AM IN CHRIST
I AM IN GOD'S WILL!
A common question in Christian circles is "Are you in God's will?" The motive of this question is often "Are you sure you're doing what God wants you to be doing?"
This question focuses on performance, which can cause us to feel guilty and to fear that we might possibly miss God's will.
However, God does not want us to live with guilt and fear based on how well or not so well we do things. He wants us to focus on what He has done through His beloved Son Jesus Christ and, consequently, His sure will for us!
BEING IN GOD'S WILL
By God's grace through the cross and resurrection of Christ, you have been taken out of Adam and placed into Christ. Being in Christ means that you are now and forever in God's perfect will -- Christ Himself!
If you don't know this foundational truth, you will strive to do many things to be in God's will while actually being in God's will all of the time!
But of God (God's will), you are (present tense) in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God -- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).
DOING GOD'S WILL
You have not only been placed into God's will (which is His Son), God's will has been placed into you!
As you believe the truth that God has already placed you in Christ, you will be free to grow to experience Christ's life in and through you, thereby doing God's will. This is your sweet fellowship with Christ.
For it is God in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
CLOSING
You are indeed a miracle of God! In eternity past, He willed to wrap you in His love and to put His love in you. And now with your free will in Christ, you can truly love Him and others!
Your brother in Christ,
