    Canvas and a Brush

I am indebted to Mike Daniel of Stone Life Ministries in San Antonio, Texas for the biblical truths in this Rest Stop.  I met Mike at a recent ministry conference. His ministry website is Stonelife.org

Mike was a brush in the Master's hand painting the truths in this Rest Stop on the canvas of my heart!  Now I want to be a brush in the Master's hand for His painting these truths on the canvas of your hearts, too!

PORTRAYING HIS WORK
The Canvas
Ephesians 2:10 says that we are God's workmanship.  The Greek word for workmanship in the original biblical text is poiema, where we get our English word poem.  Therefore, this word workmanship literally means that we are God's poetic masterpiece!

Through the cross and resurrection, God has made us a completed masterpiece in Christ!  And He has re-created our minds and emotions with a canvas.  We are God's canvas to receive His grace -- His personal and artful working in our minds and emotions to grow us in relating to Him.

So, we are called to portray God's grace through the canvas of our personalities.  We don't receive God's grace just to work for Him.  We receive God's grace to portray to the world His work in and through us!

PROCLAIMING HIS WORD
The Brush
Each of us are indeed God's masterpiece!  However, God is not creating paintings just to hang on the wall.  He is also creating you and me as finely crafted instruments He can use for His working masterpieces in other people.

Sometimes we're God's canvas, sometimes we're His brush.  He paints His Word through us as His brushes for others to see the beauty of Christ who is the Word of God!

So, as we remain surrendered in the hands of God the Master Painter, as His brush we proclaim His Word to others.  Proclaiming His Word in all of its beauty in our daily lives is the good works God has prepared for us!

CLOSING
To the praise of the glory of His grace!
It is the grace of God to each of us as His canvas that will be His glory through each of us as His brush! Let's believe and walk in these truths together!

Journey in Christ has helped me see who I really am in Christ and has helped me pursue my hunger for God's Word and righteousness.  Just having someone I could entrust my deepest hurts and concerns to has been so freeing.  I have felt condemned for so many years.
